Welcome To Mahanadi & Eastern Rivers Organization, Bhubaneshwar

Mahanadi & Eastern Rivers Organisation (M&ERO) located at Bhubaneswar  is one of the thirteen regional organisations of the Central Water Commission. 
During restructuring of CWC, Mahanadi & Eastern Rivers Organisation (M&ERO) was opened with Headquarters at Bhubaneswar in February, 1995 by transferring Eastern Rivers Circle, Bhubaneswar with three Divisions, eight Sub-divisions and 75 hydro-meteorological sites from the jurisdiction of Chief Engineer, Hyderabad.  The region is presently headed by a Chief Engineer, with three Superintending Engineer/Director level officers in-charge of Hydrological Observation Circle, Monitoring & Appraisal Directorate and Co-ordination in the Chief Engineer’s Office.  The Hydrological Observation Circle has two Divisions, eight Sub-Divisions and 103 sites.  The jurisdiction of the region includes nine east flowing river basins spread mainly across the states of Odisha & Chhatisgarh and partly in Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand & West Bengal.
