D.C. Bhatt, Deputy Director.

Deepak Chandra Bhatt, Deputy Director, National Water Academy is a 2006 batch CWES Officer. He has joined as Assistant Director at CWC Headquarter, New Delhi in June 2008. He is Bachelor of Technology (Civil Engineering) from G.B.Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Uttarakhand. 
He has participated in a semester course on "Analysis & Design of Underground Structures" and a semester course on "Water Power Engineering" from IIT Delhi under Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) in 2012
.
He has worked as Assistant Director in Design & Research wing of Central Water Commission at New Delhi HQs for five years. He has mainly been associated with the design of various civil structures of Tapovan Vishnugad HEP and Lahori Nagpala HEP in Uttarakhand state. His contribution consists in design, planning
and preparation of construction stage drawings of Intake structure, Desilting chamber, Silt flushing Tunnel, Headrace tunnel, Surge shaft, Pressure shaft, Power house, Transformer hall, Pothead yard, Tail race tunnel and other civil structure of both the projects. 
Later he served as Executive Engineer in NEID-3, CWC, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh division from June 2013 to May 2017. During 
this, he has been instrumental in the survey & investigation of water resources projects in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Jharkhand states.
Also he gained experience in preparation of Detailed Project report of water resource projects along with carrying out Morphological studies of Mahananda, Pagladia & Subansiri rivers in Assam and West Bengal. He spearheaded the task of establishment of 10 nos telemetry based Snow Gauging & meteorological Station (SG&MS) sites in remote and high altitude areas of Arunachal Pradesh. 
His specializations are in various activities associated with Survey & Investigation /DPR preparation as well as InDesign of various civil structures of
hydro power projects. 
He has joined National Water Academy in June 2017 as core faculty. His areas of interest include Analysis and Design of different components of Hydropower Plants and Survey & Investigation/DPR preparation of water resource projects.
