Manish Rathore, Deputy Director.
Manish Rathore, Deputy Director, National Water Academy is a 2007 batch CWES Officer. He has joined as Assistant Director at CWC Headquarter, New Delhi in July 2009. He is Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) from Shri G.S. Institute of Technology, Indore and M.Tech in Structural Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
He has been awarded with gold medals for being overall topper in Civil Engineering at Graduate level. He has also been awarded IITBHF scholarship for being overall M.Tech topper in Civil Engineering at IIT Bombay in year 2009. He has participated in a 3 Credit course on subject "Analysis & Design of Underground Structures" and a 4 Credit course on subject "Water Power Engineering" from IIT Delhi under Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) in 2012.
He has worked as a core member of design team for the design and optimization of various components of Hydropower Projects during his five year tenure in Hydel Civil Design (E&NE) Directorate. His contributions include project component's layout optimization, analysis, design and issue of DPR/tender/construction stage drawings of different components of hydropower projects. His specializations include transient analysis, layout optimization, design of pressure shafts, design of bifurcations pieces, analysis of underground and surface openings/excavations, application of specialized software for specific problems, etc.He has joined National Water Academy in May 2014 as core faculty.
In addition to above, he has good command in various programming / scripting languages such as Android, Java, MATLAB, Mathcad, Visual Basics, VBA scripts, C++, HTML / ASP / PHP / Javascript, DBMS, etc.
His areas of interest include Analysis and Design of different components of Hydropower Plants, Research in Structural Engineering, use and applications of software such as WHAMO, Rocscience Phase2, Staad.Pro, Autocad Civil3D, Abaqus, Unwedge, etc.
