ARJUN SAHAYAK PARIYOJNA (U.P.)


Arjun Sahayak Pariyojna envisages use of surplus water of river Dhasan during monsoon to fill existing Arjun, Chandrawal and Kabrai Dam, through feeder channel from Lahchura Dam. Further, the height of Kabrai Dam is to be raised by 9.23m, to irrigate an additional 44,381 hectare. 
The Project was approved by TAC of MoWR,RD&GR in October, 2009 and was accorded investment clearance of 806.50 Crore (741.38 Crore for works). The latest completion cost of the project is  Rs 2465.68 Crores for works) and expenditure upto March, 2018 is 941.67 Crore. The balance cost of remaining works as on 01.04.2018 is 1524.01 crore. The project was included in AIBP in the year 2009-10 and now it is targeted to be completed by March, 2019. This project is being monitored by M&A Dte, CWC, Agra.

 

  1. 1. Project Components:
    • 41.60 Km long Arjun Feeder Channel with capacity of 73.60 cumes from Lachura Dam to Arjun Dam
    • 31.80 Km long Kabrai Feeder Channel with capacity of 62.32 cumecs from Arjun Dam to Kabrai Dam connecting Chandrawal Dam.
    • Raising the height of Kabrai Dam by 9.23 meters thereby increasing the capacity of dam from 1240 ha m to 13025 ha m
    • 165.40 Km new canal network  which include 50 km new main canal and 115.40 km distributaries and minors to create additional irrigation potential of 44381 ha.
