List of Activities mandated to Design (E&NE)

• Responsible for Detailed Project Design and Engineering pertaining to Water Resources Development – Irrigation, Hydropower & Multipurpose. The Unit expertise in Project Conceptualization, Planning, Analysis & Design using the latest state of art analytical tools in the East and North-Eastern part of India, comprising of Sikkim, Assam, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Orissa, Bihar (Technical Appraisal) & for the union territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
• Detailed design and Engineering consultancy for Irrigation, Hydro-electric and Multipurpose Projects in India and abroad.
• Technical appraisal of Irrigation, Hydro-electric and Multipurpose projects received from the State Governments and Public Sector undertakings.
• Preparation of the design chapters & drawings for preparation of pre-feasibility report & detailed project report of Multipurpose and Hydro-Electric Projects investigated by Field Circles of CWC located at Shillong, Gangtok and Faridabad. 
• Design of Multipurpose and Hydro Electric Projects that are undertaken by the Brahmaputra Board.
• Addressing Special Problems related to Operational, Hydraulic, Structural, Geotechnical & Safety Aspects encountered in the Projects.
• Capacity Building through Paper publications & Training programs.
