Monitoring (South), Organisation, Bengaluru is responsible for:

1. 1. Monitoring of Irrigation Projects under AIBP, CADWM Programme,General monitoring of select irrigation projects, as and when requested monitoring of ongoing projects under CAD&WM, RRR, MI and FMP programmes of Ministry, monitoring of reclamation works of water logged areas,etc. in Karnataka and Goa.

2. 2. Appraisal of medium irrigation projectsof  Karnataka and Goa.

3. 3. Scrutinyof Revised cost estimates for Fast track Proforma clearance and Recommendationof proposals for sanction of Central Assistance under AIBP and  CADWM Programmes.

4. 4. Preparation of Monitoring reports and submission to Ministry / CWC HQ. Also, uploading the same in AIBP/CADWM Project Monitoring System.

5. 5. Monitoring of Flood Management Schemes, technical examination of DPR seeking funds under various funding schemes, attending state level TAC meeting for Flood Management Schemes, Minor Irrigation participation in, State Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) and coordinating with state governments.

6. 6. Examination and processing the funding proposals received from States; memorandums of understanding (MoUs), etc.

7. 7. Monitoring the Physical/financial progress of the projects uploaded in AIBP/CADWM Project Monitoring Information System (MIS) by State Govt. 

8. 8. Preparation of draft TAC notes, supervising and coordinating all the works pertaining to Appraisal of Major, Medium projects, MI schemes .

9. 9. Carrying out Hydrological observations ; collection of HO data,Metereological data and water quality data, primary validation and Compilation of data.

10. 10. Maintenance&Operation of the Flood Forecasting Network in Upper Cauvery Basin and Part of Krishna Basin.

11. 11. Inflow Flood Forecastfor 6 reservoirsof Karnataka, 4Nos. namelyHemavathy, Harangi, Kabini&Krishna Raja Sagar in Cauvery basin and in Krishna basin -2 Nos. namely Upper Tunga& Bhadra.

12. 12. Water Quality / Sediment analysis/ Bed material analysis.
