Monitoring and Appraisal of Projects under RRR Schemes

The works of RRR of projects under Maharashtra is also dealt by Appraisal Directorate. The projects having command area of less than 2000 ha and needing repairs, restorations and renovations are included under the scheme. Total 362 RRR projects were received in the directorate during the year 2014-15. Out of these, 22 projects are from the Water Resources Department and 240 projects were from the Rural Development and Water Conservation Department. These projects was examined and sent to CWC headquarters for sanction of Central Assistance. The same were examined at CWC, HQ and they requested for submission of proposals strictly as per the RRR Guidelines with revised cost estimates. The state government was requested from time to time, however the compliances on the observations of CWC, HQs was not received for more than a year. Therefore as directed by CWC (HQs) / MoWR, RD & GR the proposal has been sent back & deleted from the list of project under Appraisal, MCO, CWC, Nagpur with the request to submit revised project proposal, if any, in future which would be considered as fresh proposal.
